Photos for Nepal

Last fall, I journeyed to Nepal to climb in the Himalaya but found so much more than towering mountains.

The people were among the kindest, warmest and strongest I’ve ever met. They love their country, and each other, fiercely; never letting their smiles wane despite the rough conditions they live in.

Life got tougher for them last weekend after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the tiny country, the worst quake in over than 80 years. More than 5,000 were killed, and10,000 injured.

Prayer flags, symbolizing hope

Countless ancient temples and landmarks were destroyed and thousands of buildings collapsed. The United Nations estimates $415 million is needed to help survivors meet basic needs.

Thisworldexists is selling prints from the month I spent in Nepal with 100 percent of the proceeds going to help the recovery efforts there. If you can help, please do.
