Five Stunning Locations of Australia's Mornington Peninsula

The Mornington Peninsula, located in south-eastern Victoria, Australia, is the ultimate spot to spend your summer, and what is summer without some beach time? Below are a list of awesome and unique locations on the Mornington Peninsula that you MUST see when you are visiting, not only to cool off, but to have fun and adventure.

Rye

The first spot, Dragon's Head, is located at Beach number 16 in Rye. This reef is renowned for it’s rock that, funnily enough, resembles a dragons head. It’s only a short 5 minute walk from the car park and a great spot to relax in summer. This is only accessible at low to medium tide otherwise the reef is fully covered.

Cape Schanck

The Second location - Cape Schanck - is a unique spot on the Mornington Peninsula hosting two beaches, Pebble Beach and 10 metres across from it is Pulpit Rock as seen in this image. This location attracts many tourists, especially in the summer.

Flinders

The fourth slice of heaven is the Flinders Blowhole. It offers a beautiful location for sunrise to start your day, and is only a very short walk from the Blowhole Road car park. There are rock pools to swim in and explore, as well as great cliff top views. This is also a very popular spot for fishermen.

Blairgowrie

Bridgewater Bay & Key Hole Rock is an awesome spot to explore in Blairgowrie. Summertime brings local kids down here as it is a well known spot for cliff jumping into deep rock pools. Blairgowrie is also a photographer's playground, with so many reefs, rocks and cliffs to photograph, both at low and medium tide.

Sorrento

Last but not least, Sorrento. Home to aqua coloured water and blue skies we have Sorrento Back beach. With the Sorrento town not far from the beach, this makes for a cool spot to grab some fish and chips, play some beach cricket, and watch the sun go down.
