Since we can't use a flashlight once we start shooting we are often out there for many hours - alone in the dark. The Edge of Darkness conveys the conflicted feelings of the love of capturing the night sky while also being concerned with that which we can hear, but cannot see. The film was captured over 12 days in southern Utah, during my workshops this past May. While I rarely shoot alone, there is often a desire to find unique compositions that require you leave the group and head out into the darkness.
